Alsea River

different seasons...different rivers...different boats...same success

Beginning in early September through October, my start fishing the Alsea River in the Coast Range west of Corvallis.  I begin the fall Chinook season in my Willie sled boat bobber fishing at Tidewater up from the Alsea Bay.  There's nothing better than a perfect fall day at the Oregon coast.

As fall turns to winter, I move up river for winter steelhead in my Willie drift boat.   I fish this from December to February.  The Alsea has wild and hatchery returning steelhead, averaging 6 to 10 lbs, with the occasional trophy fish exceeding 20 lbs.
